Ivadelle D. Schmoll. 87, Detroit Lakes, formerly of Babbitt, MN, died Saturday, April 21, 2013 at Oak Crossing in Detroit Lakes. Funeral services will be 11:00 AM Wednesday April 24 at First Lutheran Church in Detroit Lakes, Reverend Wade Dutton, officiating. Interment will be 2:00 PM Wednesday, May 8, 2013 in the Argo Cemetery, Babbitt, MN.
Friends may call 10:00 – 11:00 AM Wednesday at First Lutheran Church in Detroit Lakes.
Ivadelle Dora Schmoll was born May 10, 1925 in Waubun, MN to Alfred and Emma (Germaine) Santwire. She was raised and educated in Waubun, moving to Minneapolis as a young woman. Ivadelle was united in marriage to Don Schmoll September 28, 1951 in Waubun. They lived in Waubun and Keewatin, MN prior to moving to Babbitt, MN. Don died in 1980 and Ivadelle continued to live in Babbitt until moving to Detroit Lakes in 1994.
Ivadelle enjoyed cooking, reading, the Minnesota Twins and Minnesota Vikings.
Survivors include two sons: Gary (Cindy Meardon) Santwire of Maple Grove, MN, Doug (Lynne) Schmoll of Pelican Rapids, MN, four grandchildren: Janet Santwire, Bryan Santwire, Karissa (Dusty) Swanson, Ryan (Maya) Schmoll, nine great-grandchildren, two great-great grandchildren, a sister: Cora (Edwin) Neisen of Cold Spring, MN, two brothers: Bob (Marlys) Santwire of Detroit Lakes and Al (Connie) Santwire of Fargo, ND., and long-time friend, Dubbie Santwire.
In addition to her parents and husband, Don, Iva was preceded in death by a brother, Leonard. The family would be honored to have memorials given to the First Lutheran Church of Detroit Lakes in Iva's name.
