Tanner Christianson

Tanner L. Christianson, age 22, Audubon, Minnesota, died Monday, August 5, 2019 in Alexandria, Minnesota.

Tanner Lyn Christianson was born August 27, 1996 in Fargo, ND to Cory and Holly (Westlund) Christianson. He attended school in Lake Park, MN graduating from Lake Park Audubon High School with the class of 2014.   Tanner loved BMX racing and skateboarding with friends at local parks.  His last couple of years have been rough.  The demons of addiction consumed him and while we still do not know the cause of death, it rips our hearts out losing him so unexpectedly. He loved his new treatment center and seemed to be connecting, communicating and truly growing from his time there.  We had so much hope for him as a kind, caring, intelligent, fun-loving kid who did everything with great gusto and enthusiasm!  He’s leaving behind a huge crazy family that have all been rooting for his recovery and wanting a better life for him.  Most importantly, he’s leaving behind a precious little girl who has nothing but good memories of her funny crazy daddy.  She says, “if you yell really loud maybe daddy can hear you.”  Tanner is finally at peace and free from the evils of addiction.  His struggles are over and his life can be easy again.  Rest now honey and know that Aubrey will never forget you and she will be taken care of and loved so so much.  She is the most wonderful gift that I believe God planned for us four years ago.  We will always have a piece of you through her smiles and mischief.  Goodbye….for now.

Tanner is survived by his parents, Cory and Holly, his daughter, Aubrey, his three brothers:  Hunter, Parker and Conner, grandparents: Roger (Kathy) Westlund, Ruth (Dennis) Lerud and Jodi Christianson along with lots of aunts, uncles and cousins.  In addition he is survived by a special friend, Ariah Pavola and Aubrey’s mother, Sharissa Behlmer.

He is preceded in death by his grandfather, Roger Christianson, great-grandparents:  Garnet (Deloris) Evenson, Carl (Stella) Backman, Elizabeth (Joe) Stamness, Donald (Phyllis) Christianson and Irene Christianson.
