Sharon Tarnowski

Sharon D. Tarnowski, 80, of Detroit Lakes, MN, passed away on Sunday, August 11, 2019, at Essentia Health St. Mary’s Hospital, surrounded by her family.

Sharon Diane Fromdahl was born on June 9, 1939, in Frazee, MN, to Harold and Mabel (Wallace) Fromdahl.  She grew up and attended school in Frazee with her two sisters, Jean Erb and Shirley Trowbridge.

Sharon married Marvin Tummerdahl, to this union two sons were born, Michael and Danny.  The couple later divorced.  She later met and was happily married to Gilbert Tarnowski until his passing in 1988.  The couple owned and operated The Treehouse Bar, near Lake Melissa from the late 70’s until the early 90’s.  Together the couple added four more children to the family, Sheri, Michelle, Tim, and Tom.  After Gilbert’s passing, Sharon met Duvane Jacobson and shared many wonderful, loving years with him, making their home in Detroit Lakes, MN, until her passing.

Sharon is survived her children Danny, Tim, Tom, Sheri and Michelle; sister Jean Erb; many grandchildren and great grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her parents Harold and Mabel; husbands Marvin and Gilbert; son Michael; and her sister Shirley.
