Margaret Melton

Margaret Faye Melton passed away Thursday, March 5 at Essentia Health in Fargo, North Dakota.

Margaret Faye Melton was born March 6, 1960 in Dallas, Texas, the daughter of Daniel and Wanda (Hall) Melton and Laverne Melton.  She was baptized into the Christian faith and grew up in Dallas. In 1978 Faye graduated from Carrie High School in Dallas.

Margaret moved to Lake Park in 1990 and raised her children before moving to Detroit Lakes in 1995. Faye worked for the Becker County Highway Department for over 20 years before retiring due to health issues.

Faye enjoyed spending time at Ice Cracking Lake, fishing, swimming, and being outdoors and especially enjoyed spending time with the family. She was a hardworking, caring, person to her family and friend and especially enjoyed taking care of her cats.

She is survived by her significant other John Halvorson of Detroit Lakes; sons: Jason (Meleah) Holder of Whitewright, Texas and David (Mary Brucker) Holder of Denison, Texas; grandchildren: Daniel Holder and Axel Halvorson; siblings: Clyde Melton, Roma Denton, Glenda Petty, Joyce (Arley) Searcy, Cindy (Ronnie) Sharp, Danny Denton. Godmother to Herbert, Rosie, Jerry and Angelina (Beaner).

Faye was preceded in death by her parents: Daniel and Wanda Melton, a daughter in infancy, grandson in infancy, and siblings: Della Gilley, James Melton, and Michael Denton.
