Karen Jean Jackson was born on October 19, 1953, in White Earth, MN to Irvin and Bernice (Warren) Jackson. She attended school in Park Rapids, MN. After high school, she went on to college and received her secretary and nursing degrees. Karen moved to Minneapolis when she was young and worked as a CNA at local nursing home.
During Karen’s time in Minneapolis, she met Phillip Jones. On February 14, 1975, Karen was united in marriage to Phillip Jones in Minneapolis. Karen lost Phillip to an accident after being married a few years. She lived a few more years in Minneapolis before moving to White Earth in 2008 with her family. Karen worked for the White Earth Clinic in the billing and records department for several years and later began working for the Reservation Tribal Council doing enrollments for the past 15 years.
Karen loved spending time with her kids. She loved her kids more than anything in the world, besides playing bingo. She enjoyed going for car rides and family trips, doing puzzles, reading, and listening to country music and her favorites Conway Twitty and Elvis Presley.
Deeply loved, Karen’s passing is mourned by her daughters Kaliah Jackson, Aaliyah Jackson; sons Damien Bissonette, Phillip Bissonette, and Marcus Jackson; special sons William Jackson, and Joseph Jackson; grandsons Tyrin, Pheonix, Joseph Jr, and Lucas; granddaughters Alexandra, Venelopie, Tweety, and Billie; sister Beverly Jackson; brother Harlan Jackson; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Preceded in death by her parents Bernice and Irvin; siblings Bruce, Gary, Evelyn and Cheryl; husband Phillip; nephew Michael A. Jackson and niece Angel Jackson
