Jacqueline "Jackie" Bellows

Jackie Bellows, age 89, longtime resident of Detroit Lakes died Thursday, October 22, 2020 at her home.

Jackie was born on August 8, 1931 in Minneapolis, MN to Les and Dora (Schwartz) Dols. She attended Ascension Catholic Grade School and graduated from North High School in Minneapolis, and then attended St. Cloud Teacher’s College in St. Cloud, MN earning an Associate in Education. She married Richard “Dick” Bellows at Ascension Catholic Church in Minneapolis. They later divorced, but remained close over the years.

Jackie taught for a short time, and then over the years worked at numerous businesses and held many different jobs in the Detroit Lakes area including paper carrier for the Fargo Forum and Minneapolis Tribune, bookkeeper, cashier, bartender and waitress. She also did a great deal of volunteering.

She was a member of Holy Rosary Catholic Church, Catholic Daughters and the Eagles Auxiliary 2342.

Jackie cherished the time spent with her children and grandchildren, and especially loved everything related to the Christmas Season: decorating, shopping, hosting family, cooking, baking and candy making!  She collected Christmas Nativity Sets, and also loved her collection of duck decorations. She enjoyed reading (especially mysteries) and working in the yard.

Survivors include her children Rick (Marilyn) Bellows of Gainesville, GA; Linda (Greg) Olson of Minneapolis, MN; Lee (Marc) Weinberger of Madison, WI; Wendy (Brian) Erdmann of Rice, MN; Steve Bellows of St. Cloud, MN; Kim (Brad) Mueller of Lakeville, MN; Dan “Pachy” (Diane Wilgohs) Bellows of Prairieville, LA;  brother, Mike (Sandy) Dols of Minneapolis, MN; Sister-in-Law, Sheila Dols of Minneapolis, MN;  plus numerous grandchildren,  great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, extended family and friends; and, of course, Gizzy her dog and Gracie her cat.

She was preceded in death by her parents; former husband, Dick; infant son, Tony; brother, Jim Dols.

Memorials are preferred to Holy Rosary Catholic School in Detroit Lakes, MN; Ascension Catholic School in north Minneapolis, MN; or the Poor Clare Monastery in Sauk Rapids, MN.
