Frederick "Fred" Schacher

Frederick Schacher, age 70, of Detroit Lakes passed away on May 24, 2021 at his home.

Frederick Lewis Schacher was born on June 6, 1950 to Clifford and Elaine (Evans) Schacher in Saint Paul, Minnesota.  Fred grew up in the Saint Paul area, later moving to South Saint Paul and graduating from South Saint Paul High School. Following graduation, Fred joined the United States Marines. He later worked for a nursery until finding his permanent job as a quality control engineer at Ball Can in Saint Paul.  Fred lived and worked in Saint Paul until his retirement, when he then moved to Detroit Lakes to be with his son Tim.

Fred is survived by his son Timothy Schacher, Detroit Lakes; brothers Phillip Schacher, Saint Paul, MN and Lynn Schacher, Minneapolis, MN; sister Ann Marie.

He is proceeded in death by his parents Clifford and Elaine.

He will be laid to rest at Fort Snelling National Cemetery on July 2, 2021.
