Darlene Goranson

Darlene A. Goranson, 84, Detroit Lakes, MN, died Thurs., October 10, 2019 at Ecumen-Emmanuel Nursing Home.  Funeral services will be 11:00 AM, Saturday, October 19 at the Lake Eunice Evangelical Free Church in rural Detroit Lakes, Reverend Dale Robins, officiating.  Interment will be in Eksjo Lutheran Cemetery, rural Lake Park, MN.

Friends may call at the church 1 hour prior to the service on October 19th.

Darlene Amanda Goranson was born March 28, 1935 in rural Audubon, MN to Edwin and Amanda (Johnson) Dorff.  She was raised and educated in rural Audubon.  Darlene was united in marriage to Laurel S. Olson in December, 1954 at her family’s farm in rural Audubon.  They lived in rural Audubon prior to moving to Bothell. WA in 1965.  They returned to rural Audubon in 1971. In 1975 Darlene began working as a housekeeper for Emmanuel Nursing Home.  Laurel died in 1977.

Darlene was united in marriage to Alf Goranson, April 21, 1988.  He died May 7, 2016.

Darlene enjoyed volunteering at the Rollag Steam Thresher’s Reunion, traveling, gardening, picnics with her family and card games.

Survivors include her son, Terry (Patty) Olson, her daughter, Bonnie Eidenschink all of Detroit Lakes, ten grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren, two great-great grandchildren, her sister, Betty Brandon of Hawley, MN.

In addition to her two husbands, she was preceded in death by a sister, Gertrude York and two brothers, Wally and Harvey Dorff.
