Avis Pederson

Avis Marie (Bevins) Pederson age 63, of Ogema, MN, passed away on Saturday, February 15, 2020 in Ogema, MN.

Avis Marie Bevins was born on October 23, 1956 in Northville, MI to George and Lois (Smith) Bevins. When she was an infant her family moved back to Minnesota where they made their home. Although she lived in many places, White Earth is where she made her home. After completing her GED, Avis received her medical secretary certification from VoTech in Detroit Lakes, MN. Avis worked many different jobs in her life including; Headstart, Casino security, food distribution, land office, White Earth Police Department, and  for the better part of three decades EMT for the White Earth Ambulance of which she was very proud.

Avis had four children; Matthew, Corey, Megan and George. Avis     enjoyed and loved many things. She could usually be found cooking (often fry bread), gardening, feeding the birds, playing computer games, listening to the scanner, or at the casino. There was nothing she couldn’t do. She was great at ricing, crocheting, hunting, fishing, puzzles, canning and making bloody mary’s. She loved spending time at the lakelot and most importantly loved spending any time she could with her family and friends.

Deeply loved, Avis is remembered by her children Corey Bevins,      Megan (Kenneth) Bakken, and George (Joänna) Pederson; her       grandchildren Tia, Travis, Tyler, Trevor, Kevin, and Elijah; her siblings James Bevins, Gary Bevins Sr., and Jeanine Bellanger;  her special    children Heather (Cory) Berry, Jamie Bevins Sr., Kailene (Dan “Mouse”) Bevins, and Gary Bevins Jr., her longtime dear  friend and former spouse Dale Pederson as well as many nieces, nephews and cousins.

Avis is preceded in death by her son Matthew, her parents George and Lois, her brother Samuel Watson, and special child Jamie “Honker” Bevins Jr.
