YVONNE ANNA (WAGNER) SPAULDING

APRIL 2, 1939 – MARCH 3, 2019

Yvonne A. Spaulding, 79, passed away on March 3, 2019 at home in Sun City, Arizona under the care of her husband, Robert, and Faith Hospice.

Yvonne was born and raised in Paynesville, Minnesota on  April 2, 1939, to Willard and Lucille (Thielen) Wagner.  Yvonne met the new kid in school, Robert Spaulding, in their freshman year and they fell in love.  They were united in marriage on January 14, 1961.  They recently celebrated 58 years of marriage.

Yvonne and Bob loved to travel.  They bought a motor home and began traveling by camping and going to places like Florida, Texas, California, finally settling in Arizona in 1994.  She was an avid golfer, a ruthless bridge player and enjoyed spending time with her family.  Yvonne liked to spend time in her flower garden, loved feeding the humming birds, and hated the deer that snuck into her garden at night and ate her hostas.  Gophers were also her nemesis, and many met their demise when Yvonne got out her pellet gun.  She also loved evening pontoon rides with Bob in the summers, with a glass of wine.

Yvonne is survived by her husband, Robert Charles Spaulding, daughters Laura Spaulding and Jennifer (Chris) Ogaard, her three grandchildren, Robert, Olivia and Thomas, brother, Dale (Linda) Wagner, as well as many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins.

A memorial service is being held at the Sunland Memorial Park, Mortuary & Cremation Center in Sun City, on Friday, March 8, 2019.  A Celebration of Life will be held in Detroit Lakes, Minnesota later this summer.
