Warren Woytassek

December 26, 1940 — June 13, 2025

Warren Woytassek, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend, passed away unexpectedly at home in Peoria, Arizona, on June 13, 2025, at the age of 84. Born on December 26, 1940, Warren was a dedicated professional and a cherished member of his community, leaving behind a legacy of hard work and commitment to those he loved.

Warren’s educational journey began at St. Francis Academy in Hankinson, North Dakota, from which he graduated in 1958. His pursuit of knowledge continued at the North Dakota State School of Science in Wahpeton, where he earned his associate's degree in building construction technology. This foundation equipped him for a successful career but more importantly reflected his commitment to lifelong learning and excellence in his craft. Baptized and confirmed at Saints Peter & Paul Catholic Church in Cayuga, North Dakota, he remained rooted in faith and family values throughout his life.

Warren's career began in 1963 when he joined Lampert Lumber Co. in Little Falls, Minnesota. He later transferred to the Wahpeton branch, where he continued to serve until 1967. Following his move to West Fargo, North Dakota, Warren showcased his talents as a draftsman at the Mutchler, Twichell & Lynch Architectural firm. His passion for building and design led him to construct homes on the side until 1975, when he founded Woytassek Custom Homes Inc., a venture that allowed him to make a significant impact in the custom home industry. Most recently, he relocated with his wife, Diane, to Arizona in 2020, where he continued to design homes up until his passing.

A man of many facets, Warren was known for his workaholic tendencies and the pride he took in his business. His dedication to his trade mirrored his devotion to family, and he was always eager to connect with friends and family over shared interests.

Warren's hobbies were as varied as his talents. He found joy in dancing at the VFW and enjoyed music wherever he could. His enthusiasm for the Medora Musicals and winter vacations always brought a smile to his face. Passionate about art, he frequented art galleries and shared his love for creativity with those around him.

Warren was a proud member of several organizations, including the Knights of Columbus, the Elks, and the Home Builders Association, demonstrating his commitment to serving his community and engaging with others.

He is survived by his loving wife, Diane Woytassek; son, David Woytassek; daughter, Shari (David) Hendren; stepdaughters, Carla (Tracy) Halvorson and Sheri Tjaden; stepson, John Tjaden; grandchildren, Clare Woytassek, Karen Woytassek, Sidni Hendren, and Olivia Hendren; step-grandchildren, Kyndra Halvorson, Joshua Tjaden, Raelynn Tjaden, Austin King, Allen King, Aralyia Schoenberger, Aveia Schoenberger, and Ariann Schoenberger; and Brittany Bosh, along with six great-grandchildren. Additionally, he is survived by his beloved sisters, Romelle Toussaint, Joanne Brakke, and Beverly (William "Bill") Tesch; his brother, William "Bill" (Mary) Woytassek; and numerous nieces, nephews, family members, and friends who held him dear.

Warren was preceded in death by his parents, Leslie "Bob" and Mary Woytassek; his daughter, Susan Woytassek; and his brothers-in-law, Bill Brakke and Lyle Toussaint, among many other family members and friends.

Warren Woytassek will be remembered not only for his contributions to his profession but also for the warmth he brought to the lives of those who knew him. He will be profoundly missed by all who had the privilege of calling him family and friend.
