Twyla Susan Perrine, 68, of Fargo, ND, passed away peacefully on September 9, 2025, surrounded by her loving family.
Twyla was born on September 21, 1956, and grew up in Detroit Lakes, MN. Shortly after graduating high school, she married David Perrine, and together they moved to Wadena, MN while Dave attended technical school. Over the years, their journey took them across the country, living in Oregon, Nevada, California, Texas, and Wisconsin.
In 1989, Twyla settled in Fargo, ND, where she devoted her life to raising her three children: Stephanie (Derek) Devine, Jamie (Matthew) Snead, and Michael (Emily) Perrine.
Twyla worked in various jobs throughout her life, but her greatest passion was caring for children. For over 35 years, she was a beloved childcare provider whose warmth and patience touched the lives of countless families. After retiring three years ago, her focus shifted entirely to the people she loved most — her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
She was the proud grandmother of Sierra (30), Isabelle (21), Evelynn (20), Abigail (20), Jacob (14), Jocelyn (12), and Aislynn (9), and the cherished great-grandmother of Reyna (10), Ezra (5), and Ivy Mae (2).
Twyla will be remembered for her vibrant spirit, quick wit, and unconditional love. She had a way of lighting up every room she entered — always funny without even trying and always ready to make life just a little more fun. She loved country music, horses, people, and her family with her whole heart. Her greatest pride and joy were her children and grandchildren, who carry forward her legacy of love, laughter, and resilience.
Twyla’s absence leaves an immeasurable void, but her love and light will continue to shine through those she leaves behind.
Welcoming her into eternal life are her parents, Leona and Sylvester Stallman; sisters, Diane Dunn and Ardell Peterson; and brother, Daniel Stallman.
A celebration of Twyla’s life will be held at Holy Rosary Catholic Church in Detroit Lakes, MN, on Saturday, September 13, 2025, at 11:00 AM, with visitation being held one-hour prior to Mass with burial and luncheon to follow. Family and friends are invited to gather, share memories, and honor the incredible life she lived.
