Our beloved wife, mother, sister, aunt, cousin and friend Tammy Jo Johnson- Dilks, 55, passed away unexpectedly September 17, 2022, in Callaway, Minnesota.
Tammy Jo was born on February 13th 1967. She was the last of 10 born to Alfred and Edna (Gilbertson) Johnson in Detroit Lakes, Minnesota. Tammy attended grade school through high School in Detroit Lakes Minnesota and graduated in 1985. She had three children: Matthew, Christopher and Kayla Schultz. She met Guy Dilks in 1991. She inherited Charlie, Amanda, Trent, Josh and Danny; who she loved as her very own. She became Mrs. Charles Guy Dilks in June 2002. Tammy loved hunting, fishing, and horseback riding, although, gardening was her passion. She also loved being a wife, mother, grandmother and caregiver to all she crossed paths with.
She was kind-hearted, loving, caring, compassionate and always the life of the party. Her laughter, sense of humor and courageous strength will be dearly missed.
She is survived by her husband Guy “Chuck” Dilks, her children: Matthew (Julie) Schultz, Christopher Schultz, Kayla Schultz and Trent Dilks, Joshua and Danny Stoops; her siblings: Arlette (Dick) Westlund, Darlene (Jim) DeGroat, Carol Johnson, Audrey Boe, Roger (Susie) Johnson; her grandchildren: Mason, Peyton, Perseus, Levi, Alden, Kashis, Austin, Cole, Mariah, Charlotte, and Ollie; her great grandchildren: Benjamin and Lucas as well as a multitude of nieces, nephews and cousins.
Tammy is preceded in death by her son, Charles “Charlie” Dilks, her daughter, Amanda Hazel Brandt Dilks, her parents, Alfred and Edna Johnson, her in-laws, Margaret and Cleon Dilks, her sisters, Mary Ann Duel and Barbara McDonough, her brothers, Alfred “Butch” Johnson and Richard Johnson and niece Denise “Beezer” DeGroat.
Her Celebration of Life will be Sunday, September 25th, 2022 at the Detroit Lakes VFW. Please join us from 1-4pm.
