**In Loving Memory of Steve Linquist**

Steve Linquist left us peacefully on Sunday morning, October 5, 2025, surrounded by his beloved daughter, Amber, her partner, Kevin Chase, and his cherished grandson, Hunter. In his final days, he received the compassionate care of Hearts in Action Hospice, a comfort to all who knew him.

He rejoins his loving wife, Wanda, who had been his partner in life, along with his parents, Alfred and Norma Linquist, his brother, Kenny, and his dear nephew and godson, Kyler.

Steve is survived by his devoted daughter, Amber (Kevin Chase) Linquist, and his grandson, Hunter Linquist. He leaves behind a loving family, including his brother, Mike (Sue) Linquist; sister, Cindy (Ramon) Chavez; brother, Tom (Cheryl) Linquist; sisters, Suzeanne (Dave) Schrader and Sharon (Jamie) Link; sister-in-law, Tracy Linquist; as well as many nieces, nephews, brothers, sisters-in-law, and long-time friends who will carry his memory in their hearts.

Known for his infectious laugh and hardworking spirit, Steve dedicated many years to his craft as a carpenter. He cherished the great outdoors, finding joy in hunting and fishing, with a particular fondness for visits to the casino. During his last year of his courageous battle with cancer, he accomplished catching the largest walleye and buck of his lifetime, moments that filled him with pride and joy. He treasured time spent with family, especially during his final trips to Lake of the Woods for fishing and the Gun Flint Trail in Duluth.

Steve’s absence will be felt by many. We express our heartfelt gratitude to HIA Hospice for their unwavering support and compassionate care throughout this journey.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent directly to 114 Davis Ave., Detroit Lakes, MN 56501.

A celebration of Steve’s life will be announced and held at a later date, as we come together to honor his legacy and the love he fostered in all our lives.
