Stanley Eugene Warren

Stanley Eugene Warren, 85, Callaway, died Wednesday, November 22, 2023, at home.  He was surrounded by family.

Stanley was born in White Earth, MN on June 29, 1938, a son of the late John James and Isabelle A. (Bellecourt) Warren.  He attended area schools, and went on to join the US Air Force, honorably serving his country for four years.  Following his military service, Stanley met and married Virginia (Giefer), the love of his life.  The two were wed on May 8, 1965, and soon after moved to Wahpeton, ND, where Stanley took a job at the Wahpeton Indian School.  He went on to work in maintenance for the United States Postal Service, from which he retired.  Stanley and Virginia then moved to Callaway, MN.

Stanley enjoyed fishing and hunting, painting for family and friends, and “wild ricing”.  He enjoyed time spent at the family lake cabin; however, his greatest love was for his family.  He will be sadly missed.

Stanley is survived by his three daughters, Mary (Jim) Cepek, Kerry Warren and Barb Warren; his siblings: Joe (the late Sharon) Warren, Ronnie Warren and Kathy Hummingbird.  He also leaves his grandchildren: Derek Saunders, Jacob Cepek, Christian Cepek, Brooke Saunders, Jayme Cepek and Karrly Mehl; two great-grandchildren, Alexia and Elaina, as well as an expected great-grandchild.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his loving wife, Virginia, his brothers: Ray, John “Buzz”, Warren “Dude”, Lyle, Russell and Roger and a sister, Marguerite.

The memorial visitation for Stanley will be held Wednesday, November 29, 2023, at 11 AM at St. Benedict’s Catholic Church White Earth.  A Mass of Christian burial will follow at 12 Noon.  Final rest with full military honors will be in Calvary Catholic Cemetery.
