Sharon Archuleta

Sharon Ashley Archuleta (Hoogerhuis) a recent resident of Detroit Lakes, MN and longtime resident of Las Vegas, NM passed away on July 24th surrounded by family and friends. Sharon was just days away from celebrating her 39th birthday.

Born on August 3rd, 1986, to parents Sherrie Lujan & Ronald Hoogerhuis, Sharon was a beloved daughter, sister, mother and friend. Sharon attended West Las Vegas Highschool and grew up playing soccer and participated in cheerleading. She touched the lives of many with her upbeat personality, great sense of humor, creativity, empathy, and beautiful heart. We can’t forget to add, the bold outfits and spunky dance moves. If the music was playing Sharon was surely dancing.

You always knew when Sharon walked into the room. She was the life of the party, a bright smile and beautiful laugh. She enjoyed spending time with her family, anything arts and crafts and especially decorating for the holidays. During the summer months some of her favorite activities were spending time at the lake and going on walks with friends. Come fall, she enjoyed watching football, game nights with the girls and all things Halloween.

She is preceded in death by her Father Ronald Hoogerhuis, Great Grand Parents Benjamin and Francis Lujan, Brother Benjamin Faith Lujan and many other Lujan aunts and uncles.

Those left to Cherish her memory are her Mother Sherrie Lujan, Grandmother Ruby Aragon (Larry), Uncle Manuel “Melo” Aragon, Siblings Samantha Lucero (Elijah), Kristin Barela (Ronnie) and Michael Lucero. Children Dajsha Gentry, Ariel Marquez, Marvin Archuleta and Laron Romero. Granddaughter Amara and Nieces & Nephews Nevaeh, Ronnie Jr, Amarah, Carson, Channing, Keeghan, Benjamin and Kendrick. There are also many Lujan Family uncles, aunts & cousins that were very important to her.

A Celebration of life will be held Monday August 18th at 6:30 PM. The service will take place at the Vineyard Church in Detroit Lakes, MN with Pastor Janice Ornquist. Following the Celebration of Life, food will be served at Event 34.
