Robert Weitnauer

Robert (Bob) Peter Weitnauer, 80, passed away in his home on May 15th, 2026.

Robert (Bob) Peter Weitnauer was born December 28, 1945 in Aitkin, MN to Claude and Helen (Rose) in Aitkin, MN. When he was nine years old his family (including his brother and sister) moved to New London, MN. He graduated High School in 1963. He went to Detroit Lakes Vocational Technical School for welding.

Bob met Carol Hoglund in Willmar, and they married there at Calvary Lutheran Church on January 22, 1966. Bob worked at Trinity Steel in Northfield, worked in Minneapolis, and Maxson Corporation in Saint Paul. He then went back to school to get his teaching certificate. Bob taught welding at the Detroit Lakes Vocational Technical School until 1991. Bob was also part of VICA (Vocational Industrial Clubs of America). He served the community by being on the Lake Eunice Town Board, a Boy Scout Leader, and the St. Peter’s Church Council. Bob loved John Deere tractors.

Bob was a loving husband, dad, and grandpa. Bob is survived by his wife of 60 years, Carol; sons Robert (Larajean) of Osceola, WI; David (Genevieve-Genny) of Sabin, MN; and adopted daughter of the heart, Vickie (Eric) Anderson; grandchildren Branton (Osceola); Reegan and Hunter (Sabin); and adopted granddaughters of the heart Marie Hart and Kayla Anderson.

He also survived by his sister Claudette Millard (Elk River); and brother Arlie (Dedra) Weitnauer (Little Falls); and nieces and nephews.

Bob was preceded in death by his parents, his brothers-in-law Howard Hoglund, Rick Hoglund, sister-in-law Helen Skoglund, nephew Jeremy Kohls.

Bob will be greatly missed by his family and friends.

Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, May 30, 2026, 1:00 pm at St. Peter’s Lutheran Church Audubon, MN with Vicar Kristina Dernier, Officating.
