Dick was born June 24, 1948 in Moorhead, MN to Erling and Lorraine (Peterson) Lindstrom.  He grew up in Lake Park where he attended school through the 6th grade.  In 1960, his family moved to Moorhead where he graduated from Moorhead High School with the class of 1966. He then attended college at M-State.  In 1968, Dick enlisted in the United States Air Force and served seven and a half years including Vietnam.  He was honorably discharged from the United States Air Force on May 10, 1976.

On April 24, 1982, Dick was united in marriage to Rebecca Becky” Jensen at Elim Lutheran church in Fargo, ND.  They had two sons, Ryan (Allison), and Robbie.  Dick was the most patient, sweet, and loving grandpa to Luella and Rowan; his grandkids were the light of his life.

After being discharged from the service, Dick was employed by Concord, Inc., Crary Company and Standard Industries. In 1994, he started his own fabrication business: Metal Tech. Dick was a founding member of MN-DAK Manufacturing Association. He also proudly served on the board of directors for the City and County Employees Credit Union for 30 years.

Dick loved working with his hands. He had many talents including wood- working, plumbing, carpentry, electrical and metal work.  However, automotive restoration was his passion. Restoring a 1929 Model A and a 1955 Ford pickup were two examples of his talents.

Dick loved attending car shows and visiting with people and often times remembered individuals by the cars they drove. He also enjoyed being active in several local car clubs.

Dick is survived by his wife Becky; two sons, Ryan(Allison), and Robbie Lindstrom; two grandchildren, Luella, and Rowan; sisters Roxanne(Ron) Samuelson, and Rebecca(Tom) Sorvik; sisters-in-law Mary(Clair)Fjeldseth, and Lorraine(Norman) Gullingsrud; brothers-in-law Luther(Nancy) Jensen and Jim(Vickie Houghton) Jensen; and numerous nieces and nephews.
