Rex Robbins

Rex was born on December 14, 1964, to John and Darlene (Adams) Robbins in Bemidji, MN. Growing up, Rex lived in Iowa, Clearbrook, Plumber, Oklee, and later moved to Ponsford in 1972. He attended school in Oklee, Osage, and Pine Point. After high school, he graduated from the vocational and technical program in Waubun, for plumbing and carpentry. In 1982, he was united in marriage to Roberta Bellanger and they had two children, Rex and Charlotte. He then moved to Minneapolis in 1984 and returned a year later. In 1987, Rex began his career as a truck driver and worked for Magnum Trucking and Holland Trucking. In 1995, he purchased his own truck and he continued driving until 2006. He also worked part-time, as a snow plow driver and as grounds-keeper, for the reservation. In 2003, he married his second wife, Cynthia Tucker; together they had four children. Rex enjoyed grilling, going to the casino, surfing the internet, demolition derbies, and buying and fixing cars. He is survived by his sons, Shane (Angela) Bellanger of Osage, Rex (Mary Jane) Robbins Jr. of Ponsford, and Jonathan Robbins of Ponsford; daughters, Lisa Tucker of Henning, Lakeisha Peterson of Mahnomen, Charlotte Robbins of Ponsford, Amy Thompson of Ponsford, Samantha Robbins of Bemidji, Cassondra Robbins of Ponsford, and Ciara Robbins of Ponsford; a brother, John (Betty) Robbins of Ponsford; sisters, Beverly (Bud) Robbins of Ponsford, and Lori (Bear) Raisch of Bemidji; and 14 grandchildren He is preceded in death by his wife, Cynthia; and his parents, John and Darlene.
