Priska Greer

April 24, 2004 — January 24, 2019

Detroit Lakes

Priska Nellie Greer was born April 24, 2004, in Greenville, South Carolina to Angela Goodwater and Franklin Greer, Jr. Priska passed away January 24, 2019 in her home.

Priska was named after both of her great grandmothers. Her maternal great grandmother, Priska, and her paternal great grandmother Nellie. Those close to Priska often called her by Nellie and P.Nellie, affectionately.

She spent her early childhood years in South Carolina. In July of 2008, Priska moved with her mom and siblings to Detroit Lakes, MN, where she attended Detroit Lakes Public Schools. She was a freshman at Detroit Lakes High School, where she was a good student, achieving an Outstanding Academic Achievement Award during her middle school years. Priska not only excelled academically, she was also a great gymnast, and was a member of the Detroit Lakes High School Gymnastics team. She enjoyed learning new routines and cheering on her fellow teammates. Priska was a good friend to many, she had a sparkle to her smile that she gave to anyone. Priska would be described by her siblings as a loving, sweet girl who also had a big temper like no other. Makaila says the biggest thing she remembers is how Priska would always just walk into her room and jump on her bed or bug her for no reason, like a typical little sister. Onika will always remember Priska telling her to fix her hair, as Priska always took such pride in her appearance, especially her hair. Fabyon agreed that Priska would always make sure he was looking his best and his clothes matched, or she would insist he change. She loved to watch her siblings play sports. Football, wrestling, volleyball, softball, no matter what sport she was always there to cheer on her family. You often would find Priska outdoors doing anything because she loved those sunny days and beautiful sunsets. She enjoyed spending time with her family and friends. If she wasn’t at home bugging her sisters, she was at a friend’s snapping them all about what she was up to. Priska also enjoyed making musicallys and was very talented at it. Danica would have her watch all of them with her just to get a good laugh. Priska had her summer vacations in South Carolina with her dad and family and always enjoyed her time spent there. She would spend as much time with family until she returned home. Her favorite food was tacos and she couldn’t wait for Christmas to have “snowy mashed potatoes.” One day, Priska aspired to be a lawyer, and with her spunky attitude, she would have been a great one! Big brother, Trey, says, “she could have been my lawyer one day.”

Priska will be forever loved, and live on in the hearts of her mom, Angela Goodwater; her dad, Franklin Greer, Jr., siblings: Danica, Trey, Fabyon, Makaila, and Onika Greer, Half-siblings: LaTyanna Black, Katrina McGee, and Katrina’s daughter Kaleace.
