Philip Wayne Arneson was born on January 14, 1950, to Lloyd & Anna (Lesselyoung) Arneson in Detroit Lakes, MN. He passed away peacefully at home on October 17, 2017.
Mass of Christian Burial will be at 1:30 PM on Monday October 23, 2017, at Holy Rosary Catholic Church, Visitation will be one hour prior to Mass. Burial will be at Holy Rosary Catholic Church Cemetery following Mass.
Philip graduated from Detroit Lakes High School with the class of 1968. Following graduation, he enlisted in the United States Navy serving until his honorable discharge in 1974.
While based in California, he met the love of his life, Donna Rowland. While making their way back to Minnesota, Philip and Donna stopped in Kansas to get married on June 14, 1974. They celebrated 43 years of marriage. Philip graduated from Minnesota State University Moorhead (1977) with an engineering degree. Following graduation, Philip and Donna lived in numerous states until settling in Detroit Lakes, in 2009. Philip was known as a man that loved to work with electronics, computers and was happy to fix everyone’s appliances. If he could not figure out how to repair it, he would look it up on the internet. Philip loved his country, was a great husband and went everywhere with his dog, Bear. Philip was a loyal member of the VFW Post No. 1676, and Holy Rosary Catholic Church.
In addition to his father, Lloyd, Philip was preceded in death by a sister, Jane; mother and father-in-law, John and Mary Bowers; brother-in-law, John Tabbut; and sister-in-law, Michelle Bowers-Keating.
Surviving in addition to his wife, Donna (Rowland); are his mother, Anna Arneson; sisters: Didget Tabbut, Jo (Les) Hovland, Lu (Kip) McIlwain, Judy (Kurt) Hegna; brothers: Don Arneson, David (Deb) Arneson; Donna’s parents, Charles and Betty Rowland; brothers-in-law: Bill (Kathy) Rowland, Scott (Amy) Rowland; along with many nieces and nephews and great niece and nephews.
