April 27, 1954 — July 2, 2025

Pamela Spaeth, born on April 27, 1954, in Detroit Lakes, Minnesota, passed away peacefully at home on July 2, 2025. A devoted mother, grandmother, and partner, Pamela leaves behind a legacy marked by her vibrant personality and unwavering dedication to her family and community.

Pam was known for her infectious laughter and radiant smile, qualities that drew people to her naturally big personality. She was baptized and confirmed at Lake Park Lutheran Church, where she also wed Bruce Paskey in 1977, solidifying her ties to her faith and community. Together, they welcomed two children into their lives: Shane Paskey, born December 28, 1981, and Brittany Paskey, who was adopted just two days after birth in 1986. Pam married Leonard Spaeth in 1992 and enjoyed a wonderful partnership with him that lasted until her death.

Her educational path began at Lake Park High School, from which she graduated in 1972. She then pursued higher learning at Concordia College in Moorhead, where she earned her Bachelor of Science degree. This foundation was complemented by her lifelong love of learning, which she shared with those around her.

Pam had a commendable career in the medical field, serving as a laboratory technician at St. Mary's Hospital for ten years before continuing her impactful work at the White Earth Clinic. Her commitment to public health extended over two decades with the White Earth Public Health Service until her retirement in 2015. Pam’s professional journey was characterized by compassion and a sincere desire to help others.

Beyond her professional life, Pam found joy in numerous hobbies. She was a talented musician, sharing her love of music through the piano and guitar. Her musical journey included participation in musical groups like Perpetual Gray and Seventh Heaven. She was passionate about fitness, teaching aerobics, golfing, running, and volleyball, and enjoyed horseback riding. She cherished weekends spent at her Floyd Lake cabin and remained actively involved in her children’s lives through 4-H programs. She embraced her roles enthusiastically as a hockey mom during the winter and a rodeo mom in the summer, exemplifying her commitment to family and community activities.

Pam leaves behind her children, Shane Paskey and Brittany Paskey; her grandchildren, Olivia Paskey and Luke Paskey; her siblings, Paula Kranz, Steve Midthune, and John Midthune; her partner, Leonard Spaeth; and numerous nieces, nephews, and friends who will forever hold her memory close to their hearts.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Andreen and Carol Midthune, along with many extended family and friends who have passed before her. Pam's impact on those who knew her will endure, a testament to a life well-lived, filled with love, laughter, and an unwavering spirit.
