Norma C. Kunz of Ogema passed away Tuesday, June 16th, 2026, at Essentia Health - Oak Crossing.
Norma Cecelia Schultz was born to Ben and Celia Schultz on July 30th, 1924, in rural Callaway. She attended rural school district 101 and graduated from Waubun High School in 1941.
She married Desmond Kunz on June 5th, 1945, at Most Holy Redeemer Catholic Church in Ogema, MN. They made their home in rural Ogema. Desmond passed away January 3rd, 2004. She continued to reside on the family farm until September 2019, when she moved to the Assisted Living, Lincoln Park facility and later to Oak Crossing, all at Detroit Lakes, MN. She was a homemaker and caregiver in her former years.
Norma was active in several local organizations including Becker County Farmer's Union, Jolly Matrons Homemakers Club, St Joseph's Society, and a member of Christian Mothers Fraternity. She also did a lot of volunteering at Callaway Senior Citizens.
Norma loved reading, Sudoko, Word Search, playing cards, dancing and music, especially Real Country and Old Time Variety. She was an avid Twins fan and listened to most local sports on the radio. She made the best homemade bread. Her number one love was spending time with family. Preceding Norma in death were her parents, her husband Demond, son Martin, sisters Vivian Miller, Rhoda Hanson, Doris Berglund and brother-in- laws Arthur Miller, Vernon Hanson, Orin Berglund, Paul Geyer, Dick Lund and Kenneth Dalve.
Surviving Norma are her three sons Clyde (Linda) Ottertail, MN, Harold (Cindy) Esko, MN and Bruce (Jane) Frazee MN. Grandchildren Tony (Ashley) Kunz, Kristin (Delaney) Berger, Jason (Malia) Kunz, Ashlan (Jason) Coyne, Ben (Tamar) Kunz and Andrew (Paige) Kunz. Great grandchildren Autumn Kunz, Dash, Ripp and Koko Berger, Revel Kunz, Maven Coyne, Weston and Grady Kunz, Quincy, Kayson and Layken Kunz. There is also great granddaughter Coyne due in July and great grandson Kunz due in August. She is also survived by two sisters, Diantha Lund and Donna Dalve.
Mass of Christian burial will be Wednesday, June 24th at 11:00am at St. Mary Cemetery in Callaway with visitation one hour prior at Assumption at Mary Catholic Church in Callaway. There will be a reception with a luncheon to follow the burial.
