Nancy Molacek

April 10, 1950 — January 9, 2023

Perham

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved; Nancy Rose Molacek.  During her life, Nancy touched many hearts; leaving an everlasting legacy that will forever be remembered.

Nancy Rose Molacek was born April 10, 1950, in Perham, Minnesota the daughter of Norman and Maybell (Sandberg) Bakke.

Surrounded by her loved ones, Nancy passed away peacefully on January 9, 2023, in Perham, Minnesota under the care of hospice at Perham Living.

Nancy grew up and attended school in Pelican Rapids where she was part of the 1969 graduating class.

On March 18, 1972, Nancy was united in marriage to Richard Molacek at Zion Lutheran in Dunvilla.  Nancy and Richard’s union brought five children to their family. They started their home in Albany before moving to Mayville, North Dakota and retiring to Detroit Lakes, MN.

Nancy was a homemaker who raised her and Richard’s 5 children until she started working in housekeeping at Luther Nursing Home in Mayville and retiring in 2010. Nancy enjoyed quilting, word searches, baking, cooking, and spending time with her grandchildren.

Nancy, with her witty comments and conversations, was fun and lovely to be around. We could always count on Nancy to try food out, and make sure it was up to her standards.  "Let’s see," was a quote you could hear from her when she was ready to try something new.  Nancy loved her sweets and sharing was dependent on your ability to find her stash! Her strong personality was second to none!

In fitting with how we feel, we leave this quote by Paul Stefaniakl, "Perhaps death doesn't mean goodbye, but rather, 'til we meet again.” We will always love and miss you Nancy Rose Molacek.

Nancy is survived by her husband: Richard Molacek; children: Norm (Natalie Braun) Bakke, Lisa (Kris) Kyar, Paul Molacek, Amanda (Curtis) Shaw, Kristina (Josh) Steffl; grandchildren: Ashleigh, Marissa, Trevor (Kourtney), McKenzie, Trey, Trenity, Paislee, Kenadee, Charlee, Brayson, Kaverick, Paxton; great grandchildren: Sawyer and Saylor; siblings: Joyce, Norma, Cheryl, Bonita, Pam, Kristi, Barb, and Tammy.
