Maureen Schreder passed away peacefully on June 4, 2025, at the age of 91. She was born September 23, 1933, to Howard and Mabel Metcalf and was raised in East Grand Forks, Minnesota. Shortly after graduating, she married the love of her life, Francis Schreder, and together they raised 9 children.
She is survived by her children, Mike (Joy) Schreder, Jan (Fred) Allais, Judy (Scott) Johanson, Jon Schreder, Bob Schreder, Terry Schreder, Lisa (Rudy) Braseth, Mary (Marty) Freeman, 11 grandchildren, 3 great-grandchildren, 2 sisters, and 1 brother. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Francis, son, Tim Schreder, grandson, Mikie Schreder, and 9 siblings.
Maureen was an active member of the Catholic Church. Her passions included spending cherished moments with her family, especially her grandchildren. She loved the outdoors, swimming, cross country skiing, walking, playing bridge, and a good cup of tea.
Maureen was love; warmth, humor, and srensability all rolled into one. Laughter was always part of her day, even when she was ill. She was adored by many, and her memories will make us smile and remain in our hearts forever. We are all blessed knowing she is not alone and is now at peace.
A Private Family Service will be held at Holy Rosary Catholic Church in Detroit Lakes, at 2pm in the afternoon on Wednesday, June 11, with a family procession to the graveside immediately following.
