Louise E. Lawrence, 78, Frazee, formerly of Detroit Lakes and Strawberry Lake area, died Wednesday, June 15 at the Frazee Care Center. Funeral Services for Louise will be held Monday, June 19 at 11AM in the Strawberry Lake Mennonite Church, rural Ogema, MN. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service. Interment will be held in the Strawberry Lake Mennonite Cemetery. Louise Ellen Dodd was born March 29, 1939 at home in Strawberry Lake to Victor and Marybell (Riggle) Dodd. She attended country school in rural Strawberry Lake. After school she moved with family to Pennsylvania. She worked at the Smith Pie Factory and while in Pennsylvania she met her future husband Frank Lawrence. They were united in marriage in 1958. They resided in Pennsylvania for a few years before moving to the Strawberry Lake area. Louise and Frank made their permanent home in Detroit Lakes for many years. Louise was a wonderful mother and homemaker, always putting her family first. In her spare time, she enjoyed tending to her garden, making crafts and decorating floral arrangements.

She waitressed at Bunell's Restaurant and Erie Jr. in Detroit Lakes for a short period of time in her life. Louise will be remembered and missed by her three daughters: Carolyn Sue (Charlie) Meeks of Ogema, MN, Wendy (Robert) Wallace of Hawley, MN and Vickie (Jake) Rudolph of Detroit Lakes, MN along with 12 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren. In addition she is survived by her siblings: Joy Stoltzfus, Victor (Patricia) Dodd, Ross Dodd, Roxann Dodd and Robin (Gus) Dodd-Anderson. She is preceded in death by her parents, her children: Franklin J. Lawrence Jr., Michelle Marie Lawrence, Mary Jean Meeks, one grandson: Patrick J. Meeks and siblings: Morris Dodd, Sharon Stiyer, Milton Dodd, Thelma Collins and Esther Dodd.
