Kenneth Loren Dibley
January 6, 1932 - August 2, 2025
On Saturday, August 2, 2025, Kenneth Loren Dibley passed away peacefully at the age of 93, under the care of Hospice in Detroit Lakes, Minnesota.
Ken was born on January 6, 1932, in Moorhead, MN to Robert and Lela (Cowan) Dibley. He attended Deerhorn Country School and graduated from Wolverton High School in 1949. That same year, he enlisted in the U.S. Army, where he met the love of his life, Helen, while stationed in Alabama. They were married on September 9, 1953.
Ken and Helen made their first home in Wolverton, MN, where they farmed and owned the local grocery store. In 1964, they moved to a farm north of Audubon, where they continued farming and raised their three children.
Ken had a deep love for his family and was especially devoted to his grandchildren, many of whom shared time with him in the tractor-often the iconic red ones he loved. He was known for his sweet tooth, especially his love of chocolate, and no one left his home without a treat in hand. Ken was gentle by nature, never known to speak an unkind word or hold a grudge. He enjoyed gardening, always growing an abundance of vegetables. Ken was also known for his trusty lunch cooler, which accompanied him on every outing, no matter how short the trip. Packed with sandwiches, snacks, and always something sweet. It didn't matter if he was going to the field, into town, or just out for a drive-his cooler came along for the ride.
Ken is survived by his children: Bob (Sharon) Dibley of Audubon, Keith Dibley of Detroit Lakes, and Kim (Mark) Erickson of Lake Park; 11 grandchildren: Chad (Jill) Dibley, Cassie (Chris) Dagenais, Nicole (Matt) Fulton, Tina (Brenton) Newling, Jeremiah Critt, Eric (Crystal) Dibley, Jennifer Dibley, Nathan (Julie) Dibley, Alicia Dibley, Ryan Dibley, and Andrew (Megan) Erickson; 26 great-grandchildren; and many beloved great-great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Helen; his parents; his brother, Stanley; and infant siblings.
Ken's life was defined by hard work, quiet strength, and unwavering love for his family. He will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
