Kathryn Grady-Thurston

Kathryn passed away on Thursday, February 13, 2025, at her home, under the care of Hospice of the Red River Valley.

Kathryn Grady was born in Hendrum, Minnesota on June 16, 1948. Kathryn grew up attending school in Hendrum before moving to Fargo and graduating from Fargo North in 1964. Kathryn was united in marriage to Clayton Thurston on November 29, 1966.

Kathryn worked for Steiger Tractor for many years and was a Real Estate Agent before moving Detroit Lakes. Kathryn worked at Central Market in Detroit Lakes, making wonderful friends that were like family to her.

Kathryn loved the water, working in her yard, and people. Her greatest pleasure in life was visiting her great-grandchildren.

Kathryn is survived by her sons Cooper (Kelly) Thurston and Jake (Lisa) Thurston, grandson Sloan and great grandson Connor Thurston and great-granddaughter Lydia Thurston.

Kathryn is preceded in death by her husband Clayton.

A funeral mass will be held Friday, June 20, 2025, at 11:00 am at St Mary of the Lakes Catholic Church, Detroit Lakes with visitation one hour prior.
