JoAnne Catherine Lillis, a remarkable woman whose life was filled with love, compassion, and dedication, passed away peacefully on October 9, 2023. Born on August 7, 1947, in Perham, MN, JoAnne was known for her warm heart and caregiving nature. She was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend who touched the lives of everyone she encountered.

JoAnne's journey through life was marked by numerous achievements and beautiful memories. After graduating from Perham High School in 1965, she married the love of her life, Ed Lillis. They shared 55 years of marriage together and had three children. JoAnne got to stay home and raise them for most of her life before she embarked on her successful career as a Treasurer / Coordinator for AFT Associates. Additionally, JoAnne and her husband Edward owned North Country Kitchen in Detroit Lakes. Together, they built cherished memories and created a thriving business.

Beyond her professional accomplishments, JoAnne found immense joy in pursuing her hobbies and interests. JoAnne and Ed spent countless hours enjoying fishing and making memories while on Harley ride adventures together. JoAnne held a special talent for bowling and playing cards; smear was one of her favorite games. Dancing with Edward was another cherished pastime that brought them both immeasurable happiness. From waltzing to polka and two-step dances, they glided across dance floors with love in their eyes.

Family was at the core of JoAnne's life; they were her greatest source of pride and joy. Her grandchildren meant the world to her, and she loved them all dearly. Amber Lyman, Emma Lyman, Mark Lyman, Shelby Lyman, Mara Lillis, and Colby Lillis were the shining lights in her heart.

JoAnne's memory will forever be treasured by her surviving family members: her loving husband, Edward stood by her side throughout their journey together, their children: Kevin (Jennifer) Lillis and Stephanie (Raymond) Lyman, her siblings: Robert Waldorf, Mary (Arthur) Anderson, and Russ (Lisa) Waldorf, her sisters-in-law: Sharon Waldorf and Nancy Anderson, and her brother-in-law, Butch Huwe.
