Joan Kay Delp was born April 25, 1945 in Detroit Lakes, Minnesota, the daughter of Albert and Ethel (Johnson) Moser. She passed away Friday, November 29, 2019 at Essentia Health – St. Mary’s Hospital in Detroit Lakes.
She was baptized and confirmed at Egelund Lutheran Church, grew up and attended school in Detroit Lakes, graduating with the class of 1963.
In 1969, she was united in marriage to LeRoy Delp Sr. at Grace Lutheran Church. They made their home in Perham and Hawley before settling in Detroit Lakes.
Joan was self-employed running a house cleaning business before returning to school for nursing. She worked as a CNA while attending Detroit Lakes Vo-Tech, receiving her LPN degree. Joan worked at Essentia Health – St. Mary’s Hospital in Detroit Lakes for over twenty years before retiring.
She enjoyed gardening, cooking, bird watching and loved taking the time to appreciate the nature at Tamarac State Park. Joan found great joy walking her dog and was always known for keeping an immaculately clean house.
Joan is survived by her children: Todd (Lyza) Delp, Tammy (Leif) Tingstrom, LeRoy (Robbie) Delp Jr., grandchildren: Kristina, Albert, Kimberly, Heather, Jannell, Katerina, Alexander, Andreas, Erik, Cayla, and Cody; 11 great grandchildren; significant other: Donald Olds; sister: Lois Flatau; brother: Daniel Moser; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents Albert and Ethel Moser; husband: LeRoy Delp Sr.; grandchild: Gabriel; siblings: Lowell and Duane Moser.
