Jerry Aho, 81, passed away peacefully on November 1, 2025, in Fargo, North Dakota. Jerry was known for his warm spirit and unwavering dedication to his family and friends. Throughout his life, he brought joy to those around him and left an enduring mark on the lives he touched.
Jerry was born on March 12, 1944, in Detroit Lakes, Minnesota, to Eino and Hilja (Maisio) Aho and grew up working on the family dairy farm. Jerry attended Frazee High School, graduating in 1962. Jerry met Cynthia DeWandeler on a blind date and they were joined in marriage in November of 1966.
Jerry served as a member of the US Army for 6 years.
After marriage, Jerry and Cyndy settled in the Twin Cities area where he worked on many construction projects around the area. Jerry and Cyndy were blessed with 3 children while living there: Andy (Becky), Jeremy (Amanda), and Adam (Jolene).
In 1983, Jerry, Cyndy, and family moved back to the family dairy farm in Snellman, MN, where he spent the rest of his life, enjoying his field work, taking care of his animals, and enjoying the collie dogs he had through the years.
Jerry was preceded in death by his parents and in-laws, Frank and Elvira DeWandeler. Jerry is survived by his wife and children, and 9 grandchildren, PJ (Audrey), Jeremiah, and Melody; Christian, Liv, and Eli; Collin, Lindsey, and Gavin; two sisters-in-law, and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
A funeral service for Jerry will be held on November 8, 2025, at Gethsemane Lutheran Church, in Snellman, MN (46913 MN-34, Osage). The visitation will commence at 10:00 AM, followed by the funeral service at 11:00 AM. After the service, an inurnment will take place at the Snellman cemetery.
As family and friends gather to celebrate Jerry's remarkable life, we remember his legacy of strong faith, love, and friendship. May he rest in peace, leaving behind cherished memories that will forever live in the hearts of those he loved
