Jerry Adkins

Jerry Wayne Adkins was born August 20, 1942 in Tom’s Creek, VA to Dock and Gladys (Salyers) Adkins. He was raised and educated in Jenkins , KY and had served with the United States Air Force. Jerry married January Metzger July 1, 1961 in Hebron , ND . They lived in Fargo where Jerry worked for Construction Supply Company and Fargo Tank Company. They later divorced. Jerry married Peggy Larson in the 1980’s and they also divorced. He moved to Michigan to care for his mother and following her death in 2006 he moved to Many Point Lake , rural Ponsford.

Jerry enjoyed hunting, fishing, grilling and being with people. He was a member of the American Legion, the Eagles and the Elks.

Jerry is survived by his son, Steven of Fargo; grandchildren: Joseph “JJ” Adkins, Tasha Adkins, Jeremy “JD” Adkins and Andrew Scott Adkins; brothers: Fred “Joe” (Barbara) of St. Charles, IL, Charles (Lila) of Louisville, KY; sisters: Phyllis (Bob) Dupuie of Taylor, MI, Sharon (Bernard “Sparkey”) Smith also of Taylor, MI. He was preceded in death by one son, Scott.
