Jerome Curtis Anton, 87, of Detroit Lakes, MN, passed peacefully on May 17, 2026, while under Hospice and Assisted Living care.
Jerome (“Jerry”) was born in Nielsville, WI, to parents John and Eva Anton. His early years were spent in the California Bay Area. He then moved to Moorhead, MN, with his dad and two brothers, where he graduated from Moorhead High School.
His detailed craftsmanship provided the stimulus for pursuing a teaching and carpentry career at West Fargo High School and Moorhead Technical College.
Jerry and his wife of 66 years, Barbara, raised their family, son Timothy and daughter Susan, in Moorhead, MN, where they both taught in the Moorhead School District.
An avid fisherman with colorful fishing stories who loved the lakes of northern Minnesota and Canada, Jerry was known as the man who knew the best fishing spots in the area.
Jerry and Barb retired to Little Pine Lake in the early 2000s, where he built his last dream house in 2004.
His strong faith in Jehovah God sustained him through some medical issues in his later years.
He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Robert (“Butch”) Anton, “Super Frog.”
Friends are invited to share a memory as they “Drop A Line” for Barb and family at 1325 Pelican Lane Detroit Lakes, MN.
