Jennifer Soyring, age 59, of Callaway, Minnesota, passed away peacefully at her home on Friday evening, July 24, 2026, after a courageous battle with cancer, surrounded by her loving family.

Jennifer was born on December 28, 1966, in Detroit Lakes, Minnesota, to Arville and Ruth Thompson. She graduated from Detroit Lakes High School in 1985 and went on to attend the Detroit Lakes Technical Institute, where she earned her degree in accounting in 1988. In August 1996, she was united in marriage to the love of her life, Paul Soyring.

Jennifer devoted much of her life to her family. She was a constant presence at her daughters’ sporting events and 4-H horse shows, always cheering them on with pride. She enjoyed attending community events with her family, traveling, creating special memories with her grandchildren, and looked forward each year to the family’s annual trip to Bad Medicine Lake.

Throughout her career, Jennifer worked at the Detroit Lakes Liquor Store and served as a correctional officer for Becker County. Most recently, she was employed as the Assistant Manager at the Callaway C-Store for Lakes Community Coop in Callaway, where she enjoyed serving her community and building lasting friendships with customers and coworkers.

Jennifer’s greatest joy was her family. She is survived by her loving husband, Paul Soyring; her cherished daughters, Brenda (Dale) Hieb, Hope (Joe) Johnson, and Tiffany (Travis) Thompson; and her beloved grandchildren, Wyatt, Myles, and Leah, who brought endless happiness to her life.

She is also survived by her father, Arville (Rita) Thompson of Volga, South Dakota; her siblings, Kathleen (Mike) Anderson of Nokomis, Florida; Mary (Harlen) Hendrickson of Detroit Lakes, Minnesota; Linda Thompson of Detroit Lakes, Minnesota; Susanne Thompson of Lake Elsinore, California; Amy (James) Vogt of Detroit Lakes, Minnesota; Lori (Matthew) VanSteenwyk of Grantsburg, Wisconsin; Anne (Chris) Brandt of Volga, South Dakota; and Aaron Thompson of Detroit Lakes, Minnesota; as well as many nieces, nephews, extended family members, and dear friends.

Jennifer was preceded in death by her mother, Ruth Thompson; her sisters, Theresa Quam and Ruthy Thompson; and her brother, Clifford Thompson.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Tuesday, August 4, from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. at David-Donehower Funeral Home, with a blessing at 6:00 p.m., followed by fellowship. Burial will take place on Wednesday, August 5, at 10:00 a.m. at Holy Rosary Catholic Cemetery in Detroit Lakes.

Jennifer will be remembered for her unwavering love for her family, her generous heart, and the joy she found in supporting those she loved. Her strength, compassion, and the countless memories she created will remain forever in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.
