Jason "Jake" Ruchti

Jason Lee “Jake” Ruchti, 53 of Waubun, MN, died on Saturday, May 6, 2023, at Essentia Health of Fargo, ND surrounded by his close family members.

Jake was born the son of Marvin and Kristine (Bode) Ruchti on February 9, 1970, in Atwater, Minnesota. He grew up in Detroit Lakes, MN attending Washington Elementary in Detroit Lakes and also attended school in Callaway. Jason graduated from high school in Detroit Lakes. Jason left home after graduation and joined the United States Navy in the early 1990's. He attended trade school and became an electrician after returning home from his service.

He was a man of the land and couldn't ever get enough fishing, camping and gardening. Jason enjoyed every bit of life and held his family and friends close.

Jake will be dearly missed by his son, Dylan of Bismarck, ND, brother, Jesse, uncle, Donnie, aunt, Marilyn, nieces, Baehlee and McKenna, and his life partner of 17 years, Shelly Bunnell.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Marvin and Kristine, a brother, Zane, and an uncle, Ronnie.

Memorial Service: 10:00 AM, on Monday, May 15, 2023 at David-Donehower Funeral Home, Detroit Lakes, MN with Pastor Matthew Meyer to officiate.
