Dilworth

Janice Joyce (Kozitka) Teiken, 75, Dilworth, MN, passed away unexpectedly on Thursday April 25, 2024.

She was born in Detroit Lakes on January 7, 1949 to Clarence and Joyce (Leizert) Kozitka. She attended local schools and was a 1967 graduate of Waubun High School. After Graduation attended College for one year in Detroit Lakes

Janice married Thomas Henry Teiken on June 27, 1970, and they lived together on a Farm in Ogema. Janice worked many jobs in her lifetime such as at International Foods as a cashier, housewife, Tupperware consultant, boxed turkeys at Swift, she worked as a para-educator with Waubun High School. She also worked at the Garment Factory, SuperValue, worked as a cook at the 59er, and finished her working years as a photo tech at Thrifty White Drug.

Janice enjoyed her family, she was the biggest supporter of her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.  She enjoyed her bible studies and sharing her faith with everyone. She took yearly camping trips with her brothers and sisters. It was an event she looked forward to.

Janice was an amazing cook and baker and there was never enough homemade bread to fight over or her famous potato salad, not to mention her homemade stuffing and taco salad. Her boys loved to binge on taco salad after wrestling matches. However, nothing beat her most fought over GERMAN SWEET CHOCOLATE CAKE.

She was a Lifetime Member of the Woman’s Auxiliary. Janice enjoyed traveling whenever she could, and more so after she retired, especially traveling with her sisters. Janice without a camera was a rare occasion, and she loved to capture all the precious memories that she could. She also enjoyed her sudoku with her 2 cups of coffee (LOL).
