James Vernon Mulari, 85, passed away peacefully on October 22, 2025, under the care of Hospice at Diamond Willow in Detroit Lakes, Minnesota. James was born November 7, 1939, to Oscar and Harriet Mulari of rural Ogema. He grew up near Little Sugar Bush Lake. He graduated from Detroit Lakes High School in 1957.
After graduation he worked for Ernie Anderson on the farm. He married the love of his life, Irene Muff on November 19, 1960. Jim worked to provide for his family at Swifts in Detroit Lakes, at Grovers, he drove bus and later farmed on their own farm. The couple had four children, raising them on the family farm.
Jim enjoyed reading, watching westerns, hunting and fishing. He loved to travel out west to Washington and bring back boxes of fruit for everyone in the neighborhood. Jim enjoyed a simple life.
Jim is survived by his wife of 64 years, Irene Mulari; son, Daniel (Karen) Mulari, daughters, Karen McDougall and Pamela (Richie) Britton; granddaughters, Jenna (Justyn) Schoenberger, Alycia Jenson, Odessy Renstrom, Carrie and Hope Britton; great grandchildren, Riley, Lacey, Danika, Seth, Carver, Tate, Maddux, Olivia, Leah, Allyson, Lucy and Gabriella; and brother, Wade (Sally) Mulari.
He is proceeded in death by his parents, Oscar and Harriet Mulari; his daughter Barbara Mulari; his brothers, Allen, David, Barry, and Neil Mulari.
