Harold Paul Rebenitsch

Harold Paul Rebenitsch, 86, of Detroit Lakes, MN passed away on April 30, 2024 at home. 

Harold was born in Mandan, ND to Paul and Mary Rebenitsch on November 1, 1937. Harold earned a bachelors and a master’s degree in chemistry from Gonzaga University and then the University of Northern Iowa. He worked as a chemistry teacher at various schools and ended his career at Red River High School in Grand Forks, ND. Harold retired in 1999 and enjoyed spending his time fishing, bird watching, and cheering on Gonzaga basketball. He loved his partner-in-crime, Jean, with his whole heart and was married to her for 60 years. 

He is preceded in death by his parents and his brothers, Art and Bob. 

Harold is survived by his wife, Jean, his daughter, Pam (Jason) Zoller of Olathe, KS and his daughter Nancy (Chris) Davis of Rice, MN, as well as grandchildren Anna (Cameron) Scholz, Noah (Allyssa) Zoller, Madi Davis, and Haley Davis and his great-grandchildren Liam and Brielle Scholz.

The Mass of Christian burial for Harold will be celebrated at St. Mary of the Lakes Catholic Church, 20996 Co Rd 20, Detroit Lakes, MN 56501 on Monday, May 6, 2024 at 10 AM with Msgr. Mike Foltz officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior.   Inurnment will be at St. Mary of the Lakes Cemetery.
