Glenna Marie Mastel

Glenna Marie Wilson Mastel, 85, of Detroit Lakes, MN, passed away peacefully on September 15, 2026, at Essentia Health Oak Crossing. Born on November 11, 1940, in Aberdeen, SD, to Glen and Marie Wilson, 

Glenna lived a life full of family and friends. She was formerly married to Charles Mastel, and together they were blessed with three children whom she loved dearly. Glenna is survived by her children, Kevin Mastel (Jo Rudnitski) of New York Mills, MN, Karen Launchbaugh (Karl) of Moscow, ID, and Karla Nistler (Paul) of Detroit Lakes, MN. She is also survived by her three grandchildren, Eric Nistler (Mandy) of Proctor, MN, Justin Nistler (Kim) of Sandy, UT, and Sadie Johnson (Jeff) of Frazee, MN; and her great-grandchildren, Liam and Riley Nistler, and Connor and Brooklyn Johnson. She was preceded in death by her parents, Glen and Marie Wilson, and her brother, Don Wilson. 

Throughout her life, Glenna was known for her warm personality, her strong faith, and the deep connections she shared with those around her. She was a strong businesswoman with a natural knack for sales, and she later brought her dedicated work ethic to Essentia, where she worked faithfully for 21 years. She carried a profound love for her family in her heart, always keeping those she loved wrapped in her prayers. She found great joy in being a central part of her growing family's lives, and her gentle spirit left a lasting impact on everyone who knew her. 

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday, September 22, 2026, at Holy Rosary Catholic Church in Detroit Lakes, MN. Rosary and Visitation will begin at 11:00 AM, with the Mass of Christian Burial to follow at 12:00pm.  In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to HIA Hospice, Essentia Health Oak Crossing, or a cause close to her heart.
