Gladys Klicker

Gladys Lavonne Klicker, age 79, resident of Detroit Lakes, MN died Saturday, May 3, 2008 at Emmanuel Nursing Home in Detroit Lakes, MN. The Funeral Service for Gladys will be held Wednesday, May 7 at 11:00 AM in Zion Lutheran Church in Detroit Lakes. Interment will be at Oak Grove Cemetery in Detroit Lakes.
Visitation will be Tuesday, May 6 from 5 to 7 PM at the David-Donehower Funeral Home in Detroit Lakes and will continue one hour prior to service on Wednesday at the church.
Gladys LaVonne Klicker was born September 15, 1928 in Traverse County, MN to Frank and Ella (Jastram) Klicker. She had lived her entire life in Minnesota. In 1936, Gladys was injured in an accident that left her with a handicapped left side. This did not hinder her at being a wonderful care giver and she spent many years caring for children and the elderly. After Gladys moved into the Lamplighter Apartments in Detroit Lakes, she was extremely proud of being a member of the Senior Companions and enjoyed helping where she could. She also enjoyed being a member of the musical group the Ding-A-Lings and was an active member of Zion Lutheran Church.
Gladys will be remembered and missed by her brother, Donald and wife Ruth Klicker of Wheaton, MN; two sisters, Hazel and husband Wayne Swanson of Spokane, WA, Judy and husband Cal Anderson of Sun City AZ. She is also survived by several nieces, nephews and many friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers Ervin and Marvin; one sister, Evelyn.
The family of Gladys Klicker would like to personally thank the staff at Emmanuel Nursing Home for the loving care they showed Gladys and for making her feel so comfortable. We would also like to personally thank Dr. Anita Jonason for all the care and treatment she provided for Gladys. God Bless all of you for everything you do!
