Gina Summers

Gina Ilene Summers and son Jude died at home in Orono, Mn. on Monday, September 4, 2017.

Gina was born April 25, 1971 to Michael Summers and Sharon (Joy) Spiess.  She grew up in the Detroit Lakes area and graduated from  Detroit Lakes High School in 1990.  She moved to Orono and lived there until her death.

Gina was a loving and devoted mother to Jude, born August 1, 2012.  Gina loved the outdoors.  She loved animals, especially dogs.  She is survived by her father Michael (Sue) Summers of  Vergas, mother, Sharon (Bob) Spiess of Detroit Lakes, sister, Lisa (Ben) Jasken Peterson of Detroit Lakes, brother Michael (Joy) Summers of Vergas, Aunt Judy of Wayzata with whom she spent a lot of time,  maternal grandparents, Wilbur Joy of Detroit Lakes, Sally Westlie of Vergas, Beverly Hurley of Duluth and many other aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews whom she loved.  Gina had many great friends that walked with her through life for which her family will be forever grateful.

Funeral mass will be at Holy Rosary Catholic Church, Detroit Lakes, Mn., Tuesday, September 12, 2017.  Visitation at 12:30, service at 1:30. Internment at Oak Grove Cemetery, Detroit Lakes.

A memorial mass will be held Thursday, September 14, 2017 at Our Lady of the Lake Catholic Church, Mound, Mn.  Visitation at 10:00 and service at 11:00.

In lieu of flowers memorials to Our Lady of the Lake Catholic Church or the charity of your choice.
