George Tweten Jr

George E. Tweten Jr., 98, of Lake Park, MN, formerly of Moorhead, MN, died December 14, 2021, at Sanford Hospice House in Fargo, ND.  Celebration of Life will be 2:00 - 4:00 pm with prayer service at 4:00 pm, Saturday, July 9 at David-Donehower Funeral Home in Detroit Lakes.  Family interment will be in the Riverside Cemetery in Glyndon, MN.

George was born August 24, 1923.  He was united in marriage to Mary Ellen Borgen of Fargo, April 6, 1946, in Glyndon, MN.  They farmed near Glyndon and Lake Park until 1959 when they moved to Moorhead.  George drove truck for Allied Van Lines until retiring and moving to their lake home on Leaf Lake in 1987.

Survivors include a son: David of Audubon, MN, 3 daughters: Susan (Larry) Olin of Park Rapids, MN, Becky (Terry) Swanson of Cornville, Arizona, Wendy (Mark) Dillon of The Villages, FL, 11 grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren and a great-great -grandson; 2 daughters-in-law: Carrie Tweten and Deb Tweten both of Moorhead, MN, a brother, Roy (Marie) Tweten of Glyndon.  He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary, his parents, 2 sons: Brian and Tim, 3 grandchildren, David Daniel Tweten, Josh Olin, Kiera Dillon, a daughter-in-law, Judy Tweten, 2 brothers, Donald and Russell.  David-Donehower Funeral Home is serving the family.
