Gary Alan Negen, son of Dick and Dorothy (Kleinhuitzen) Negen was born on March 11, 1947, in Willmar, Minnesota.
Gary grew up on a farm south of Prinsburg, MN with his parents, one sister Janice and two brothers Dalen and Dennis. Family moved to Prinsburg, starting a Plumbing and Heating business.
Gary attended Central Christian School in Prinsburg through 10th grade, completing school at Renville High School graduating in 1966.
June 27, 1967, Gary joined Armed Forces of the United States until August 1972. He was stationed at 825 Supply Parts Co Army Reserve in Willmar, MN for 6 years.
Gary worked various jobs with uncles and road construction. Found his career in truck driving with Fritz Trucking. Gary moved to Frazee, MN in 1974, driving for Daggett Truck Line, Tuffys, Wausau, returning to Daggett Truck Line with driving, Safety Director and CDL Trainer. Gary drove almost 3 million miles, accident free in his career. A job he truly enjoyed.
Gary was married to LaVonne Damhof, one son, Mitchell. Gary met the love of his life, Karlene Earley and her two sons Shane and Dane Gigstead in October 1974. They were married April 12, 1975. Celebrated their 50th Anniversary April 2025. Blessed with three amazing sons, 15 grand and 28 great grand precious children.
Family trips, camping, hunting, holidays together were very special to Gary.
Gary was very involved in Frazee activities, member of Frazee Lions, American Legion and Woods and Wheels ATV club. Being chosen Grand Marshall for Frazee Turkey Days in 2012 was a great honor for Gary and Karlene.
He is survived by his wife, Karlene, three children, Mitchell of Murdock, Shane (and Lisa Foster) of Detroit Lakes and Dane (and Diane) of Ponsford; 15 grandchildren, 28 great-grandchildren. Also surviving is one sister, Janice (Ron) Damhof of Willmar, Dalen (Pam) of Paynesville and Dennis (Kathy) of Lakeville.
He was preceded in death by his parents and one grandchild (Zachary Negen).
