Gary LaVerne Jordahl

September 27, 1949 — January 8, 2024

Fargo, North Dakota

Gary L Jordahl was born on September 27, 1949 in Minot, ND to Gordon and Loraine (Cline) Jordahl.  He attended Catholic schools while they lived in Minot.  His family moved to Grand Forks and he graduated from Red River High School in May, 1968.  He enlisted in the United States Marine Corp December, 1968 and served in Vietnam until July, 1970. He married Alice Enger and two children, Wendy Sue and Chad G, were born. Gary went into the construction business and did everything from remodeling homes in ND to owning a drywall business in Alaska to building new homes in Florida and MN.  He then transitioned into the mortgage lending business. While in Florida, he met and married Vera (Vikki) Mullinix, Thanksgiving Day, November 25, 1982.  He adopted her children, Kristofer L and Tina M.

 

Gary was a fan of Elvis Presley and you could hear him singing, “Can’t Help Falling in Love” plus other Elvis songs. Gary also enjoyed Harley motorcycles and even named his dogs, Harley.

 

Gary is survived by his children Wendy Jordahl, Kristofer Jordahl and Tina Reese, grandchildren, Vincent Davila Jordahl, Nicholas Davila Jordahl, Sophie Sunshine Mathson, Alyssa (Nick) Rasmussen, Anthony Reese, Natalie Reese and great grandson Jackie James Rasmussen.  Gary is also survived by his brothers, James (Gail), Joseph (Coleen), Robert (Carolyn), Stanley (Rhonda) and sisters, Janet (Lloyd) Anderson and Kristine Jordahl and many nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews.

 

He was preceded in death by his parents, Gordon and Loraine Jordahl, his son Chad, his brother Steven and wife Vera (Vikki) Jordahl.

 

A celebration of life will be held on June 8, 2024.

Gary Jordahl passed away peacefully with family by his side at the Fargo VA Hospital on January 8, 2024.  (Elvis was born on January 8.)
