Gary Allen Grindall, 65, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, January 20, 2026, in his home in Audubon, Minnesota, surrounded by loved ones.

Gary was born in Bemidji, Minnesota on August 14, 1960, to Kenneth and Barbara Grindall (DuBois). The family then moved to Audubon, Minnesota, where Gary graduated in 1978 from Audubon High School where he formed lasting friendships and memories. He attended Detroit Lakes Technical and Vocational School and graduated with a degree in Marine Engine Mechanics.

He worked a variety of jobs beginning with his Father’s body shop in High School and went on to repair motors on boats in Florida. He enjoyed working in Wisconsin at a Golf Course and loved working with his dad building and installing their Natural Stone Products in various states. He started his own construction company and retired in 2023. Gary was known for his strong work ethic.

Gary’s Blind Date led him to make the best move of his life for love and married Tanya. They were married May 12, 2012, on El Zagal golf course in Fargo. They enjoyed golfing, traveling, dining out and spending time at their lake home on the pontoon.

Gary was a Mason and a very proud Shriner for 17 years where he formed deep friendships and enjoyed contributing his time to the Shrine Circus and Parades. He enjoyed Golfing, Traveling, Deer Hunting and riding his Harley. He was an avid Vikings Fan however it was a Love/Hate relationship! He also loved watching Westerns and Hallmark movies and spending time at the Lake with his Family and Grandchildren.

Gary’s greatest accomplishment in life was raising his 7 kids. All will deeply miss his Hugs, Big Heart and even Bigger Booming Laugh!

Gary is survived by his wife, Tanya; and 7 children, Aunna (Andy) Braton; Cody (Katie) Grindall; Brandon (Carrie) Grindall; Allie (Sam Gieseke) Suedel; Hunter (Ariah Pavola) Suedel; Blaine Suedel; Payton (Noah Hanson) Suedel. Grandchildren; Stephanie Grindall, Dominic Braton, Eli Gieseke, Caleb Houle, Lillyauna Erb, Adley Grindall, Sierra Baysinger, Jace Grindall, Isabella Grindall, Serenity Baysinger, Brody Grindall, Axton Grindall, Kash Suedel, Lyle Suedel and the favorite Grandchild, Nova (golden retriever); Father, Kenneth Grindall; Brother, Kenny (Yvonne) Grindall; Sister, Debbie (Ron) Lanoue. Sister-in-Law; Jodi (Monte McDougall) Ellingson. Nephews, Shaun (Meg) Grindall; Austin (Taylor) Lanoue; Jordan Kraft. Nieces, Jenny (Justin) Stearns; Kelsey (Brett) Brehm; Bryanna Krahn.

Gary is preceded in death by his Mother, Barbara Grindall.

A memorial service will be conducted for Gary on Thursday January 29,2026 at David-Donehower Funeral Home beginning with a time of visitation at 5:00 pm and formal services to begin at 6:00 pm.
