Gabriel Stephen Anderson

January 30, 1975 — October 4, 2023

Detroit Lakes

Gabriel (Gabe) Stephen Anderson, age 48, passed away on October 4, 2023, in Detroit Lakes, Minnesota.  He had been in hospice after an illness.  Gabriel was formerly of Memphis, TN but he had adopted Detroit Lakes as home for the last several years of his life.  He is survived by his parents, Fred and Teresa (Quaranta) Anderson and his many aunts, uncles, cousins, neices, nephews and brother.  He also leaves behind his faithful canine companion 'Ruckus' who will now be homed and loved by Gabriel's caring friends Hannah and Cameron.

He is predeceased in death by his maternal and paternal grandparents and his cousin.

Gabriel was a native Memphian and graduated from White Station High School.  He worked in stage production and as a home care giver.  Music was his passion, and he wrote music, lyrics and played the drums.  Besides music he was a fan of history and explored documentaries of all eras.  He also enjoyed scary movies.  He was an animal lover and was devoted to his dog.

He left this world surrounded by good friends.  It is comforting to those who knew him that his struggles are over, and he is now at peace spiritually and physically.

Services in Detroit Lakes and Memphis, TN are still being planned at this time.

Gabriel asked that in lieu of flowers any contributions in his memory be made to the Make A Wish Foundation.  Donations can also be made to your local Pet Rescue Foundation.

Poem written by Gabriel:

Requiem

By Gabriel Anderson

Lying still as though asleep

Weights lifted no worries to keep

Mother Mary appears with saints

Blessed Lord discharge my fate

The pain and crying of ones around

In my mind not a voice will sound

The bright white light and feeling of peace

Has replaced the hate and suffering now ceased

Leaving my soul in Heaven's arms

Living life in serenity's charms

Soft and beautiful, kind to the touch

Hallowed place of love and such

Torn from ones I've loved so long

Hearing voices of rejoice and song

Forgotten hate renewed with love

Feeling peace as I rise above

All I see are immaculate scenes

All I feel are peaceful dreams

I know what lies ahead for me

It's a peace and warmth called serenity.
