Ervin Theodore Wiebolt

Ervin Wiebolt passed away on January 5, 2026, at the age of 94. He was born at home in Rockville, MN to Fred and Leona (Knoblach) Wiebolt. In 1933 the family moved to Ogema, MN where he spent much of his life. He graduated from Waubun High School in 1949. Ervin worked at the family creamery in Ogema as a Butter Maker until he joined the U.S. Navy in 1951. He served from 1951 to 1955 during the Korean War.

He married Lois Kraus on July 22, 1954. While in the Navy they made Whidby Island, WA and Corpus Christi, TX their home. After his time in the Navy, they moved back to Ogema where he worked at the creamery until being appointed Ogema Postmaster in 1964. He retired in 1992. After retirement they moved to Big Sugarbush Lake. He enjoyed many days fishing, boating and lake life with family.

He is survived by his children, Tom (Lori) Wiebolt, Steve (Gail) Wiebolt, Jim (Karen) Wiebolt, Jodi (Rick) Renner, and Kristi (Al) Foltz; 12 grandchildren; 7 great grandchildren; sister, Jean (Wally) Stangler; and sister-in-law, Betty Wiebolt.

Going before him were his wife of 71 years, Lois, 3 infant children, David, Mary, and Joseph; his parents; brothers, Ken and Delroy; brother-in-law, Chuck; and sisters-in-law, Renee and Darlene.

Mass of Christian Burial will be on Friday January 9, 2026; 11:00 a.m. at the Most Holy Redeemer Catholic Church in Ogema, MN. A Rosary will be prayed at 9:30 a.m. followed by a visitation from 10:00 a.m. until Mass time on Friday. Interment will be in the Most Holy Redeemer Catholic Cemetery, Ogema, MN. The David-Donehower Funeral Home has been entrusted with the arrangements.
