“What’s Uuuup!” December 7, 2018. Eric Eugene Moore passed away after a battle with ALS- Lou Gehrig’s. “A baseball disease,” in Eric’s words. Eric always looked on the bright side of life. He was planning to live to 106; 53 was halfway there.

Eric was in the middle of six siblings. He grew up in Chatsworth, CA.  As a child he wanted to be a truck driver. He loved playing baseball, riding bike, and swimming. He spoke fondly of his childhood.

Some of his hobbies/loves included Boom Beach, roller coasters, Nascar, rice, dogs, travel, Snoopy, Star Wars, and of course driving semi-truck. Eric had been driving since he was 20 years old. The last 17 years he has worked for R&R Transportation and has driven 1,800,000 miles for them. He would tell people he was a professional tourist. In December he would wear shorts and a Santa hat. Eric always had a big smile on his face and brought cheer. Eric would pop in on family and friends around the country; often with food. Loyalty and caring for others was important to him. He called himself the “fun uncle”. Taking kids out for movies, treats, riding on top of cars, or doing a joint family trips was not unusual.

Eric was a world traveler. He had visited all 50 states and many countries including Mexico, Canada, Romania, Germany, France, Italy, England and Japan. Some favorite places were Dracula‘s Castle, driving the Audubon, Snoopy Museum, and various Disney-Worlds around the world!

His youthful spirit will be missed by his family, his Minnesota family, and friends.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Emily Moore; sister, Sonya Moore; brother, Bryan Moore; grandparents, Ann Hiter, Sam Moore and Leonard Walton; Uncles, Greg Moore, Revell Moore, and Tony Walton; and a baby in heaven.

He is survived by his parents, Alwyn (Lois) Moore of Lancaster, CA; sisters: Tracie Moore of Ogden, UT, and Karen (Rick) Taylor of Ogden, UT, Seana McAlpine, TX; brothers: Keith James, and Rodney Mayfield, both of CA; His Love, Grandma Vera of Ogden, UT; an aunt Cheryl (William) Lyons, Nieces and Nephews Regina Green, Ogden, UT, Ernest Mitchell, FL, Jasmine Shipmon, Malcolm Shipmon, Rhyan Moore and Khyron (Crayon) Moore of Ogden, UT; three grandnieces and one grandnephew, and cousins all of Ogden, UT.
