Donald Tomas

Donald E. Tomas, age 75, of the Detroit Lakes, MN area. Our beloved brother and uncle passed away on Sunday morning, August 2, 2026 at the Hawley Senior Living Center in Hawley, MN.  He was born on February 4,1951 in Chicago, Illinois to the late Charles Frank & Edna Bertha (Dorn) Tomas. 

Don is survived by his brother- Charles Tomas of Hodgkins, IL; several nieces & nephews; and all of his friends from the Detroit Lakes area especially his team of caregivers from Lutheran Social Services and the nursing home.

 A high school graduate, Don had worked for the Jewel-Osco grocery stores in Illinois. Don will be laid to rest in the Woodlawn Cemetery in North Riverside, IL at the family's convenience. 

The David-Donehower Funeral Home in Detroit Lakes, MN has been entrusted with the arrangements. Memorial donations may be made in Don's name to the Lutheran Social Services, Detroit Lakes, ATTN: Development, Lutheran Social Service of Minnesota, SDS 12-2054, PO Box 86, Minneapolis, MN 55486-2054.
