Dianne Jo (Vigesaa) Kimberlin, 73 of Detroit Lakes, MN passed away peacefully on June 26, 2025 with her children by her side. Dianne was born August 10, 1951 in Ada, MN to parents Horace and Clara Vigesaa. Her childhood years were spent growing up on the family farm where she lived with her parents and siblings, outside of Twin Valley, MN. She often shared stories of horseback riding and caring for her pet raccoon and dog-Red as some of her fondest memories. After graduation, Dianne became a certified Psychiatric Technician and worked at the Fairbault State School and Hospital. In 1986 she became a Licensed Practical Nurse and worked in the nursing field for 30+ years. Dianne was a true caregiver to all - personally and professionally. She earned a degree in Business Management/Ownership, and later in life, one could be greeted by her during her 20 years of service work at L&M Fleet and Walmart.
Dianne was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church. She had a deep-rooted faith in Jesus and found comfort in prayer.
Dianne was very close with her parents and had a special bond with her dearest friends, Sherrie Sather and Carmen Feyereism.
"Our mom & grandma - was a beautiful soul... a perfect blend of strength and tenderness, of wisdom and playfulness. Her "big heart" and giving nature had no bounds. Her love was unconditional. She always said hello and goodbye with a hug and never ended a conversation without saying 'I love you.' She was our biggest cheerleader, celebrating our victories as if they were her own and helping us learn from our failures with gentle guidance. Her advice was a curious mix of old-world wisdom and fortune cookie philosophy, delivered with a wink and a smile. In the kitchen, she was a wizard, turning even the most simple ingredients into meals that tasted like home. Sure, there were a few cooking experiments gone wrong (we're looking at you tuna patties) but even those fiascos are now cherished memories. She taught us to find joy in the little things, to laugh at ourselves and to always be kind. She showed us that love is in the details - in a well-timed hug, a bag of our favorite snacks or a silly dance party in the living room. Mom...grandma, you were one of a kind! Your love, your laughter and your spirit will live on in us. We'll miss you terribly but we're so grateful for the life we shared."
She is survived by her two children, Casandra Vigesaa- (Mark) Disse, and Justin Vigesaa both of Detroit Lakes, MN; four grandsons, Benjamin, Mavrik, Ivan and Hueston; 2 brothers, Sig (Kop) Vigesaa of Bartlesville, OK, Mark (Linda) Vigesaa of Fairbault, MN; 3 sisters, Karen Nelson of Cormorant, MN, Cindy Folendorf of Detroit Lakes, MN and Kim (John) Pederson of Fargo, ND; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents and a niece.
Her children would like to express their gratitude to the hospice care team for their compassion and support. And a special thank you to her sister, Karen.
